Podcasts are internet audio broadcasts designed to make your life easier. Allowing you to automatically download and listen to the news thats revelant to you.
How to listen; easy as 1, 2, 3…
1. Listen now
You can listen to the broadcast now on your computer. Click the play button on the player next to the podcast you want to listen to and the broadcast should start playing straight away.
If it doesn’t work you may need the latest Flash player. You can download this for free from www.macromedia.com.
2. Listen later
You can save the broadcast onto your own computer, or transfer it to your portable MP3 player to listen to it at any time.
Save to your computer
How to do this depends on your computer. If you are using Windows, right-click on the ‘download’ link. A list of options will appear that will include something like ‘Save Target As…’ or ‘Save Link As …’. Choose this and save the broadcast just as you would save any document.
You can then either open this up to play at any time, or you can then download this onto your portable MP3 player in the usual way if you wish.
3. Subscribe to our trial podcast
Just like subscribing to a magazine and getting it delivered to your door, you can automatically receive the next broadcast without having to hunt for it.
You can also choose to get other broadcasts from lots of other sources – BBC sites, music sites and so on.
You will need a piece of software on your computer to automatically download the broadcasts you want. These are usually free. Some of the most popular places to go to get this software are:

You will then need to subscribe to get the podcasts you want by following the easy instructions on these sites.

Your software will automatically save the things you’re interested in on your computer. You can then listen to it or transfer it to your portable player.
If you decide you no longer want to receive any of the podcasts you’ve chosen it should be easy to unsubscribe. Exactly how will depend on whether you went to iTunes, Juice and so on; but you should look for options that say something like ‘Unsubscribe’
