We’re pleased to welcome two new funds to our growing range of high quality investment options. These funds are from two of our existing investment partners, Baillie Gifford and UBS Global Asset Management.
The launch of these funds forms part of an ongoing strategy to strengthen our sector and ‘specialist’ fund range to complement our strong managed fund range. With this in mind we have chosen fund managers who in our opinion represent the ‘cream of the crop’ within each regional and specialist sector.
These funds are available to AEGON Scottish Equitable pensions (excluding stakeholder) and life (onshore) investors.
Scottish Equitable Baillie Gifford International Fund
The fund’s objective is to achieve capital growth by investing mainly in companies worldwide, excluding the UK.
The fund invests in a geographically diversified portfolio of shares of international companies it believes offer above-average growth prospects. It can also invest up to 10% in collective investment schemes and deposits. It can invest in any country except the UK and tends to invest in larger companies in the developed world. Scottish Equitable UBS Targeted Return Fund
The fund’s objective is to achieve a return above the UK Retail Prices Index through a diversified portfolio of investments.
The fund aims to return 6% above the Retail Prices Index over a full market cycle of around five years. To do this it uses a different strategy from other absolute or total return funds. Instead of using a multi-asset strategy it invests in a spread of equities, bonds and currencies much like any active or passive balanced equity portfolios, but it uses derivatives to significantly reduce risk. In that way it seeks to achieve similar returns to balanced managed funds, for much less risk. Click here for more information.
