We recognise that if the worst happens, employees need more than just financial support. So we've linked up with RED ARC, an independent care advisory service, to provide practical and emotional support for anyone affected by bereavement.
RED ARC can help:
- any of your employees who are affected by bereavement
- the family of an employee who has a terminal illness or dies
- HR or line managers to manage a difficult situation
What is the service?
RED ARC services are delivered by a team of experienced nurses. When an employee (or their line manager or family member) contacts RED ARC, they'll be allocated a personal nurse adviser who'll look after their case. The nurse adviser will listen to them and offer advice and support specific to their situation. This could include:
- arranging bereavement counselling
- putting them in touch with specialist charities or support groups
- arranging complementary therapy to help relieve stress and depression
- giving advice on working with or supporting people who've been bereaved (for line managers and colleagues)
Many people find their relationship with the nurse adviser the most beneficial part of the service. They can talk openly to someone who understands their situation and wants to help, but isn't directly involved. There's no time limit on how long they use the service or how often they call.
The best way to illustrate this is to look at some case studies.
