Critical illness or disability may not just stop you earning, it may also dramatically increase your cost of living, while sudden death can leave your family without a breadwinner. So it makes sense to provide for these possibilities while you can.
Our Personal Protection has a number of components, each with a range of options.
- Critical illness protection pays out a lump sum if the person covered is diagnosed as having one of the specified critical illnesses.
- Life cover with critical illness protection pays out a cash lump sum either on the death of the person covered or if they're diagnosed as having one of the specified critical illnesses, whichever happens first, throughout the benefit term
- Life cover means that either a regular income or a lump sum will be paid out on the death or on diagnosis of terminal illness of the person covered.
- Income protection gives the person covered an income if they're unable to work because of illness or accidental injury.
Additional benefits
AEGON Scottish Equitable Personal Protection also offers many additional benefits, such as free critical illness cover for your children and the option to increase or decrease your level of cover throughout the policy term. This is triggered by certain events, for example if you get married or have a child, and it's subject to certain limits.
How it works
The main covers included in our Personal Protection policy are critical illness protection, life cover and income protection.
